# Delete a delivery

`DELETE https://api.parasend.com/v1/deliveries/{id}`

Authentication: `Authorization: Bearer <API key>` (a `ps_test_` key in test mode, `ps_live_` in live mode).

Schedules permanent removal of the delivery's documents, the recipient's contact details and the other data you can change, backups included. The sealed evidence record is not deleted: Parasend keeps it for the retention period from the delivery's last event, and the parties entitled to it can still obtain it. A delivery under legal hold (`legal_hold: true`) answers 409 `delete_blocked_legal_hold`, with the case reference in `error.detail`.

## Path parameters

- `id` (string, required): The delivery's ID, starting `dlv_`.
